SANA'A September 24.2023 (Saba)-His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Head of the Supreme Political Council, met today , Sunday,at the People’s Mosque in the capital, Sana’a, with a number of wounded and disabled people, on the sidelines of the inauguration of the cash food baskets project, which is funded by the General Authority of Zakat.
The President delivered a speech at the meeting, which was attended by the Director of the Office of the Revolution Leader , Safar Al-Sufi, in which he saluted the wounded and disabled who sacrificed parts of their bodies in defense of Yemen, its security and stability, and who irrigated the soil of Yemen with their blood, in the face of the most brutal aggression in contemporary history.
His Excellency addressed the wounded and disabled: “You are the living martyrs. There are some of you who pledged to God some of your body parts, and we feel your suffering. I had a wounded brother whose pain continued for six years until he rose as a martyr. I feel the bitterness of the pain of the wounded. I am among you and I suffer from your pain.”
He continued, "We and all the people of our country in the free zones enjoy security, safety ,stability, and this is all thanks to God and the sacrifices you have made.
You are a crown on our heads and a source of our pride and glory. When the mother sleeps, the elderly and the poor, the poor, sleeps with the security of his life from those criminals, invaders and their scum." .
President Al-Mashat pointed out that one of the fruits of the sacrifices and steadfastness of the wounded was the continuation of the glorious September 21 revolution, one of the fruits of which was the establishment of the General Authority for Zakat. He said, “I stand among you today after we passed the inauguration of charity projects on the occasion of the birth of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers, peace be upon him and his family, in the amount of 34 billion riyals will reach the poorest and poorest families these days.”
He concluded his speech by saying, "Thanks to God and the blessing of your sacrifices and thanks to your steadfastness, your groaning and your pain, all the good that will reach the poor, the needy, the destitute and all the good that the children of our Yemeni people will enjoy. You are partners in that reward because you suffered , sacrificed and stood like roaring lions in sites of steadfastness and pride. All that we offer you." We are negligent towards you and we apologize to you once again.”
For his part, the head of the Zakat Authority, Sheikh Shamsan Abu Nashtan, confirmed that the cash food baskets project for the wounded and disabled comes within the charity projects that included 36 projects for the poor, needy, vulnerable, and beneficiaries in the rest of the banks, at a cost of more than 34 billion riyals.
He stressed that these projects in the fields of health, medical support, economic empowerment, cash and in-kind assistance projects for the poor and needy, and other projects directed to the debtors, the displaced, the wounded, the disabled, the orphans, the families of the martyrs, the prisoners, and the missing, in conjunction with the anniversary of the birth of the Messenger of God, may God bless him , his family and grant them peace, embody the mercy brought by the final Prophet.
Abu Nashtan appreciated the attention of the Revolutionary Leadership and the Supreme Political Council to the segments of the poor ,needy, and to caring for the wounded, the families of the martyrs, the disabled, the prisoners, and all segments of society.
He reviewed the previous projects implemented by the General Authority of Zakat since its establishment, stressing that the number of beneficiaries reached approximately five million, 345 thousand and 697 beneficiaries in all banks, at a total cost of more than 302 billion riyals.
In addition, the President pointed wounded and disabled to participate in the luncheon held by the General Authority of Zakat in honor of the wounded ,disabled ,the children of prisoners and missing persons.
