IBB August 16. 2024 (Saba) - On behalf of His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Chairman of the Supreme Political Council, the Governor of Ibb Abdul Wahed Salah was briefed on Friday on the damage caused by the torrential rains yesterday afternoon in the districts of Al-Dhahar, Al-Mashannah, and Jiblah.

During the visit, in which he was accompanied by the director of Al-Mashannah Directorate, Harith Al-Maliki, Governor Salah offered condolences to the families of the two young men, Wadia Qanaf and Ayham Salim Al-Arhabi, who were swept away by torrential rains while trying to rescue a child due to the floods flowing in the Al-Dhuhub area of Al-Mashannah district.

Governor Salah visited Bilal's grandchildren who live next to Jiblah streams, checked on their conditions, and listened from the chief of the neighborhood to an explanation of the damage caused by the floods in their homes, and the damaged mattresses and food supplies in those houses.

The governor of Ibb directed the director of the Mashannah District, the Red Crescent branch, and the General Authority of Zakat to limit the flood damage to Bilal's grandchildren and provide them with the necessary aid and assistance, including foodstuffs and others.

The governor of Ibb also visited some homes of citizens living next to the bridge in the city of Jiblah, who entered the houses by floods.

Governor Salah, along with the directors of Al Dhahar and Jiblah districts, rewarded the young man Abdul Majeed Abdo Abdullah Al-Fakhri, who saved an entire family from drowning after it was surrounded by floods with streams of Jiblah.

The Governor of Ibb praised the humanitarian and moral attitude of Al-Fakhri young man, calling on all citizens to stay away from waterways during and after rainfall, which may endanger their lives.
