SANA'A August 28. 2024 (Saba) - The head of the Supreme Political Council, Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, directed the government of change and construction to exert maximum efforts in rescue and relief work for the afflicted in Milhan district in Al-Mahwit governorate and the rest of the governorates affected by the floods.
President Al-Mashat stressed in a statement to Saba that the state will do everything in its power to assist, praising the efforts made by the Supreme Committee for Emergency Response, and the field teams of local authorities that provide emergency and rescue services and medical assistance to the injured, and work to restore basic services to the affected areas.
The head of the Supreme Political Council pointed out that he directed the government and all concerned parties to prioritize the safety of citizens and take all necessary measures to prevent further damage and work on a full assessment of the extent of the damage and develop a comprehensive plan for reconstruction and recovery from this disaster.
His Excellency President Al-Mashat expressed his condolences to the families of the victims as a result of the heavy rains, sudden torrential rains and rockslides in Al-Mahwit, Hodeidah and Hajjah.
