Kuala Lumpur - Saba:
Malaysia strongly condemned on Wednesday the adoption by the Zionist Knesset of laws prohibiting the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Malaysian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that this step is a blatant attack on a United Nations agency , a serious insult to the international community and the sanctity of an international humanitarian agency such as "UNRWA".
The ministry stated that Malaysia emphasizes that the Zionist enemy does not have any sovereignty over the occupied State of Palestine, including East Al-Quds, as it welcomes the presence of "UNRWA" under an agreement between Palestine and the United Nations.
"This legislation seeks to legitimize what is clearly an illegal and deliberate act by the Zionist enemy to dismantle UNRWA as part of its strategy to erase the Palestinian refugee issue, undermine the right of return supported by United Nations General Assembly Resolution 194, and starve the survivors of the unprecedented humanitarian disaster and genocide in Gaza."
The Malaysian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Malaysia will remain steadfast in its support for UNRWA and called on the international community to take immediate and decisive action against the law banning the work of UNRWA passed by the Zionist Knesset to protect the agency and end the genocide against the Palestinians.
