Ramallah - Saba:
The Joint Standing Committee of the major humanitarian agencies of the United Nations called on the Zionist entity on Friday to "stop its attacks on Palestinians and humanitarian relief teams in the Gaza Strip."
In a statement, the committee described the situation in northern Gaza as "horrific" due to the ongoing Zionist siege for about a month, stressing that citizens are being deprived of basic relief supplies.
It indicated that all Palestinians in northern Gaza "are at risk of death due to disease, famine and violence," noting that humanitarian relief teams are not safe, and that the Zionist entity "prevents them from reaching those in need in Gaza."
It stressed the need to facilitate access to humanitarian aid, calling for "an end to attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure in Gaza."
The Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC), established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1991, is the oldest and highest-level humanitarian coordination forum in the United Nations, bringing together (19) UN and non-UN organizations to ensure coherence in preparedness and response efforts and agreement on humanitarian priorities.
