Iranian security forces have reported the killing of the leader of the terrorist group responsible for a recent attack on security personnel in Taftan region of Sistan and Baluchestan province.
On Sunday, Brig. Gen. Saeed Montazer al-Mahdi, a spokesman for the Iranian police, stated that within the last 24 hours, two additional terrorists had been arrested, including one who filmed the attack. He emphasized that this individual will face justice for his actions.
Gen. Montazer al-Mahdi also noted that six other individuals linked to supporting the terrorists were apprehended, and they confessed to their involvement in the deaths of security personnel in recent years.
He highlighted the quick response time between the terrorist incident in Taftan and the subsequent operation to capture those responsible, commending the efforts of the Quds Headquarters of the Revolutionary Guards, the General Intelligence Directorate, and the Intelligence Organization of the Internal Security Forces.
It is important to mention that ten members of the Internal Security Forces from Joharkouh Police Station were killed during the terrorist attack that occurred on October 26.
Earlier this month, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced the dismantling of four terrorist cells in a joint operation with the Ministry of Security in Sistan and Baluchestan, klling four terrorists, arresting eight others, and seizing a significant cache of weapons.
