Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri last night categorically denied ‘what was published in the American newspaper “Washington Post”.
Berri said in a clarifying statement, according to Al-Manar website: ‘What was published in the Washington Post is completely untrue, but in the context of the question, ‘Is Iran funding Hezbollah?’ he replied: ‘This is a known fact and you support Israel.’
The Washington Post had reported that Berri said: ‘I do not deny that Iran is helping Hezbollah, even Hezbollah says so, but if America helps Lebanon, we will not take orders from Iran.’
