A fast-spreading wildfire with strong winds in southern California, USA, destroyed dozens of homes and hundreds of residents fled.
American media reported last night that the "Mountain" fire expanded rapidly northwest of Los Angeles, prompting evacuation orders for residential communities, farms and agricultural areas near Santa Paula in Ventura County to the south.
The Ventura County Fire Department said in a statement that several people were injured and taken to hospitals, but it was not immediately clear how they were injured.
