SANA'A October 12.2022 (Saba) –His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Head of the Supreme Political Council, met on Wednesday with the Regional Director of NOREF Norwegian Center for Conflict Resolution Omar Aboud.
In the meeting, President Al-Mashat welcomed the visit of the regional director of the Norwegian Center for Conflict Resolution, to Sana'a, to learn about the humanitarian situation experienced by the Yemeni people as a result of the aggression and siege for the 8th year in a row, and the horrific crimes committed by the US-led aggression coalition against Yemen, land and people.
He expressed Yemen's aspiration for the Norwegian role in alleviating the human suffering of the Yemeni people.
He noted the decision taken by Norway to stop the export of arms to the UAE.
For his part, Aboud explained that Norway is a country that cares about peace and is currently a member of the UN Security Council and has an independent policy as it is not a member of the European Union, and it is the country that took a decision to stop the export of arms to the UAE.
He expressed the desire for an official delegation from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to arrive in Yemen and to receive delegations from Sana'a to open channels of communication.
In the meeting, President Al-Mashat thanked Norway for its decision to stop arms sales to the countries of the US-Saudi aggression against Yemen.
The meeting was attended by the Advisor to the President of the Supreme Political Council for Political Affairs, Ambassador Abdul Ilah Hajar.
