HODEIDA September 10. 2023 (Saba) - Mahdi Al-Mashat, Chairman of the Supreme Political Council, opened on Sunday the first and second phases of the National Renewable Energy Project, with a capacity of 20 megawatts, one of the projects of the Hodeida Province Support and Development Fund.
At the opening, which was attended by the Prime Minister of the National Salvation Government, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, the Minister of Finance, Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum, the Minister of Services and Development, Dr. Hussein Maqbouli, and the Governor of Hodeida, Muhammad Qahim, President Al-Mashat praised the project and the operation of the first and second phases of the solar power generation station, within the strategic projects to alleviate the suffering of the people of Hodeida.
President Al-Mashat, along with the Prime Minister, Dr. Abu Lahoum, Dr. Maqbouli and the Governor of Hodeidah, laid the foundation stone for the third and fourth phases of the renewable energy plant with a capacity of 20 megawatts.
President Al-Mashat considered this project a qualitative and strategic tributary to meet the electricity needs of Hodeida Province.
And he directed the continuation of reducing the electricity tariff by calculating the first 200 kilowatts of domestic electricity consumption for all subscribers in Hodeida at a price of 100 riyals / per (kilowatt-hour) throughout the year.
The President of the Supreme Political Council laid the foundation stone for a number of projects in the fields of agriculture, electricity, and water, funded by the Hodeidah Governorate Support and Development Fund, at a cost of two million and 518 thousand and 488 dollars.
These projects include the establishment of a feed factory (cows - sheep - chickens) with a production capacity of ten tons per hour, the establishment of a solar energy station for Kamaran Island with a capacity of (500) kilowatts, and the supply and installation of solar pumping systems for (23) projects in a number of province districts.
The opening and laying of the foundation stone for these projects were attended by the Commander of the Fifth Military Region, Major General Yousef Al-Madani, the Minister of Electricity, Dr. Muhammad Al-Bukhaiti, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture - Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Agricultural and Fisheries Committee, Dr. Radwan Al-Rubai, the Chairman of the General Authority for Zakat, Sheikh Shamsan Abu Nashtan, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Yemeni News Agency ( Saba) Nasr al-Din Amer, the head of the Rural Water Authority, Adel Bader, and the first deputy governor of the governorate, Ahmed al-Bishri.
