Enemy media: army is exhausted, must reach an end to the war in Gaza, Lebanon
[30/ October/2024]
Occupied Quds - Saba:
Enemy media reports said that ‘Zionist’ security sources recommended, on Wednesday, the need to expedite the conclusion of a swap deal and end the war on the Lebanon and Gaza fronts immediately.

The Hebrew newspaper ‘Haaretz’ quoted the sources as saying that the security system believes that it is preferable to conclude an agreement to end the war on the Lebanon and Gaza fronts that includes an exchange deal.

She said: ‘All security and military levels in (Israel), including the enemy war minister and the chief of staff, have come to understand that the army has become exhausted, especially since during the last three months it has achieved amazing military and intelligence achievements, and therefore they believe that the opportunity is now real to reach a deal through which prisoners are returned from Hamas captivity and end the war in Gaza and the north.’

The same sources added: ‘The Israeli security establishment believes that if the war continues for a long time, it will be difficult to achieve much more than what has already been achieved, while a prolonged stay inside Gaza and Lebanon increases the risk of entanglement and various losses. The severity of the blows received by Hezbollah as well as Hamas and even Iran is a reasonable opportunity to reach a settlement, but such an arrangement will also be conditional on concessions that are not easy from the Israeli point of view.’

She continued: ‘All of this depends mainly on the will of one key person, Netanyahu, but at the army summit they say that it is difficult to read Netanyahu's intentions, who spreads contradictory hints in public statements and closed discussions.’

Over the past few hours, there has been a lot of talk about initiatives being put on the table from here and there for a ceasefire in Gaza, and that there is an unprecedented movement of mediators in Arab capitals, most notably Doha and Cairo, to agree on a formula to stop the massacres that have been taking place in the Gaza Strip for the past 390 days.
