"Hamas denies Asharq al-Awsat's claims about Qassam leader fate"

The Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" denied, in a statement issued on Saturday evening, allegations made by Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper about the fate of the commander-in-chief of Al-Qassam Brigades, Muhammad al-Deif.

The movement said, "There is no truth to what was stated in London-based
Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, attributed to what it said was a source in the movement, about fate of the Mujahideen commander Muhammad al-Deif - may God protect him, and we renew our call to all media outlets to ensure accuracy, credibility and professionalism."

This morning, Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper published news that Commander Muhammad al-Deif was martyred during an assassination operation carried out by the "Israeli" occupation army targeting the Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis last July, according to informed sources in "Hamas".

The newspaper indicated, citing the same sources, that the movement's leadership inside and outside Gaza Strip received new indications confirming the assassination of Muhammad al-Deif, the general commander of "Al-Qassam Brigades", the military arm of the movement, indicating that some figures who were surrounding al-Deif confirmed after the return of communication with them, and with the movement's leadership, that he had lost contact with him since the operation that targeted him along with Rafi Salama, commander of Khan Yunis Brigade in, "Al-Qassam".

The "Israeli" occupation army continues its fierce war on Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, which has so far claimed 43,314 martyrs and 102,019 injuries, according to the Health Ministry in Gaza Strip.
