Tehran - Saba:
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei on Sunday highlighted the significance of the 13th of Aban as the National Day of confronting arrogance, asserting that the Iranian people cannot overlook the long history of illegal and destabilizing US interventions in their country.
In a post on the "X" platform, Baghaei stated "The 13th of Aban, the Day of Confronting Arrogance, serves as a reminder of the heroic efforts made by the Iranian people to live freely and with dignity, free from foreign interference and external hegemony."
He further emphasized that "our people cannot forget the dark history of the US’s illegal interventions in Iran, particularly the US-British coup on 28 Mordad 1332 (August 19, 1953) which overthrew the first elected government and reinstated the monarchical dictatorship. The US also provided extensive support to Saddam Hussein’s regime during the eight-year war imposed on Iran."
Baghaei continued, stating that "the US’s illegal pressures on the Iranian people persist to this day, including inhumane sanctions and backing for the Zionist regime's aggression.
Nonetheless, Baghaei has learned that achieving dignity and safeguarding national sovereignty require steadfastness and resistance, grounded in the national capabilities and potential.
