Beirut - Saba:
Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati asked his Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib on Saturday to file a complaint to the Security Council regarding the Zionist entity’s kidnapping of a Lebanese citizen, after reports of a Zionist force kidnapping a sea captain from northern Lebanon, who the enemy’s media said was a member of Hezbollah’s naval force.
A statement from Mikati’s office said that the Prime Minister followed up on the kidnapping of Lebanese citizen Imad Amhaz in the Batroun area, and stressed the need to expedite investigations, and made a call to Army Commander General Joseph Aoun, and was informed by him of the ongoing investigations into the circumstances of the case.
The statement added that Mikati also contacted the leadership of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), which confirmed that it was "conducting the necessary investigations into the case and coordinating with the army on this matter."
