Moscow - Saba:
Russian air defence systems shot down 50 Ukrainian drones over seven provinces last night, the Russian Ministry of Defence said on Saturday.
Sputnik quoted the ministry as saying in a statement: ‘Over the past night, an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack using drones on targets on the territory of the Russian Federation was thwarted.’
The statement added: ‘Air defence systems destroyed 50 Ukrainian drones, shooting down 28 drones over the territory of Bryansk province, 12 over the territory of Kursk province, four over Novgorod province, two over Smolensk province, two over Tula province, and one each over the territory of Oryol and Tver provinces.’
On an almost daily basis, Ukrainian armed forces target Russian border areas in Crimea and Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk and Voronezh provinces with drones and missiles, with the aim of sowing terror among civilians.
