Moscow - Saba:
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that Russian air defence systems repelled a large-scale attack by Ukrainian drones on the capital.
Sputnik quoted Sobyanin as saying on his Telegram channel on Sunday: ‘Seven more drones were shot down, in the urban areas of Domodedovo, Ramenskoye and Kolomna, so far, 32 drones heading towards Moscow have been destroyed.’
Earlier, the mayor reported the interception of 25 drones in the Ramenskoye, Domodedovo and Kolomna regions.
According to Moscow District Governor Andrei Vorobyov, two houses caught fire in the village of Stanovo in the Ramenskoye region, due to shrapnel falling from the crashed vehicles.
A 52-year-old woman was hit by a shrapnel and was hospitalised with burns, Vorobyov said, adding that emergency services were working at the scene.
Ukrainian armed forces attempt daily to attack targets in Russia's border and central regions with drones, but Russian air defence systems destroy most of the aircraft.
