Salahuddin - Saba:
An Iraqi security source on Monday announced the launch of a security operation in the vicinity of Lazaka villages in Salaheddine province.
The source told Iraq's al-Malouma news agency: ‘A joint security force was launched from two axes to carry out an operation west of Lazaka villages in Salaheddine.’
‘The operation, which included four agricultural areas in close proximity, resulted in the dismantling of two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and the combing of large areas by the field effort,’ he added.
‘The operation comes within the framework of securing the liberated villages, removing ISIS remnants and ensuring that agricultural areas are free of any direct rest-houses,’ the source said.
Security forces in Salaheddine carry out raids and searches from time to time to track down terrorist cells.
