Washington - Saba:
One person was killed and 16 others were injured in a shooting on the campus of Tuskegee University in Alabama, USA.
CNN reported today that according to information, 12 people were transferred to the hospital, while four others were injured with wounds unrelated to gunfire.
The university stated that "several people, including Tuskegee University students, were injured and are receiving treatment at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika and Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery."
The police said they arrested a man named Jacques Merrick (25 years old) as he was leaving the scene of the shooting that took place on the Tuskegee University campus, and he was charged federally with possessing a machine gun.
The shooting is among at least 454 mass shootings reported so far this year in the United States, according to the Gun Violence Archive, which defines a mass shooting as one that injures or kills four or more people, not including the shooter.
