Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works Yahya al-Sayani reviewed on Monday the workflow at the General Authority for Maritime Affairs and the efforts made to achieve maritime safety and navigational security in Yemeni waters.
Al-Sayani listened to an explanation from the Acting CEO of the Maritime Affairs Authority, Zaid al-Washli, about the role and tasks of the Authority in securing maritime navigation and preserving the marine environment from pollution in accordance with international laws and requirements.
He touched on the supervisory and advisory activities carried out by the Authority and its plan to activate the performance of its technical and administrative cadres in a way that contributes to developing and activating its role, in addition to the achievements made during the past period and the challenges facing the Authority.
During the visit, the Deputy Minister reviewed a number of directives necessary to develop the Authority's services and organize work mechanisms in line with the requirements of the next stage.
He noted the Authority's efforts and its important role as a maritime authority in securing maritime navigation despite the challenges and difficulties, pointing out the importance of the Authority's role in combating pollution and protecting the marine environment.
