Japanese stock indices rose in Monday's morning trading session on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
According to Japanese media, the benchmark 225-share Nikkei added 584.83 points, or 1.53 percent, to 38,868.68.
The broader Topix index added 27.61 points, or 1.02 percent, to 2724.14.
