Refusal to Stop Arms Sales to Zionist Entity: New Confirmation of Zionist-American Partnership in War of Extermination in Gaza
[26/ November/2024]

Capitals - Saba:

In a new confirmation of the Zionist-American partnership in the ongoing war of genocide and starvation in the Gaza Strip, the US Senate blocked three resolutions on Thursday that would have stopped the sale of some weapons to the Zionist enemy entity.

Less than 24 hours after the United States used its veto in the Security Council against a draft resolution to stop the war in the Gaza Strip, the US Senate overwhelmingly blocked three resolutions aimed at stopping the sale and transfer of American weapons to the Zionist entity, amid growing concern about the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

All votes in favor of the resolutions came from the Democratic Party, while a mix of Democrats and Republicans opposed them, reflecting the division between the Democrats to whom President Joe Biden belongs regarding policy toward the government of the Prime Minister of the Zionist entity, Benjamin Netanyahu.

79 members rejected the decision to sell tank shells to the Zionist entity, while only 18 supported it, and one member voted in attendance only, without supporting or rejecting the decision.

78 members opposed the resolution to prevent the shipment of mortar shells to the enemy entity, and 19 supported it, with only one vote in attendance.

80 members voted against a third measure that would have obstructed the shipment of offensive munitions, while 17 supported it, and one member attended.

The resolutions were submitted under the leadership of independent Senator Bernie Sanders, with limited support from Democrats who expressed sharp criticism of the suffering of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

Earlier, left-wing members of the US Senate called on the Biden administration to stop supplying weapons to the Zionist entity, accusing Washington of complicity in the atrocities of the war on the Gaza Strip.

Independent Senator Bernie Sanders, along with a number of Democratic lawmakers, presented several texts condemning US aid to the Zionist entity.

He stressed that "the United States is complicit in these atrocities, and this complicity must stop, and this is the content of these draft resolutions."

"What is happening in Gaza is unspeakable," Sanders said at a press conference, referring to the killing of tens of thousands of civilians in the Palestinian enclave, the destruction of buildings, and "Israel's prevention of much-needed humanitarian aid." He stressed that "what makes the situation even more painful is that much of what is happening there is being carried out with American weapons and with the support of American taxpayers."

Sanders returned to accusing the Prime Minister of the Zionist entity, Benjamin Netanyahu, of violating international and American law and human rights and obstructing the delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip.

During the conference, Sanders reviewed pictures showing the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza, as a result of the genocide carried out by the Zionist enemy.

The United States obstructed the issuance of a resolution by the UN Security Council calling for an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire in Gaza by using the veto.

The draft resolution, which was supported by 14 countries and opposed by the United States, called for an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire that must be respected by all parties and the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages.

The Zionist enemy army, supported by the United States and Europe, continues its aggression on the Gaza Strip for the second year in a row, as its aircraft bomb the vicinity of hospitals, buildings, towers and homes of Palestinian civilians and destroy them over the heads of their residents, and prevents the entry of water, food, medicine and fuel.

The Zionist-American aggression left about 148 thousand Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than ten thousand missing, amidst massive destruction and famine that resulted in the martyrdom of dozens of children and elderly people, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
