A thrilling athletics championship concluded on Tuesday in the capital Sana'a, showcasing the athletic prowess of university and community college students from across the country.

The three-day event, held at al-Muraisi Stadium, was organized by the Higher Education Sector of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Over 150 athletes from 20 institutions participated in a variety of track and field events, including: Track Events: 100m, 200m, 400m, and 800m races, Field Events: Shot put, javelin throw, and long jump
Relay: 4x100m relay.
The competition was fierce, with athletes pushing themselves to their limits.

Dhamar University emerged as the overall champion, securing the most gold medals. Al-Hikma University and Azal University claimed the second and third-place positions, respectively.

Individual Performances: Several athletes stood out with exceptional performances. Ali Mansour from Dhamar University dominated the 800m race, while Ali al-Yemeni from al-Hikma University excelled in the 400m and long jump events.

The event fostered a strong sense of camaraderie among the participating teams. Athletes from different universities cheered each other on, showcasing the true spirit of sportsmanship.

The championship encouraged a healthy and active lifestyle among university students, promoting physical fitness and mental well-being.
