Dhamar - Saba:
Dhamar International Stadium will host the inaugural provinces athletics championship starting Saturday as part of a four-day event organized by the General Federation of School Sports, in collaboration with the General Administration of School Activities and the educational sector in Dhamar province.
The championship, which runs from November 30 to December 3 will feature school students from 11 provinces, Capital Sana'a, Sana'a, Dhamar, Hodeida, Hajjah, Mahweet, Amran, Sa'ada, Taiz, Bayda, and Dhale.
Competitors will participate in a variety of events, including the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 4x100m relay, and the long jump.
The event is held under the auspices of the Ministries of Youth and Sports and Education and Higher Research, with support from the Youth Care Fund. The championship carries the slogan "Our Great Martyrs … Together on the Road to al-Quds”.
The leadership of the General Federation of School Sports, including Vice Chairman Abdulhafedh Abu Talib, Assistant Secretary General Abdulqawi al-Sharaabi, and Board Member Ahmed Mutawa, have confirmed the readiness of Dhamar Stadium to host the event.
Teams from the participating provinces will arrive on Saturday for the tournament’s technical meeting, where the draw will be conducted and tasks assigned. The competition is set to begin on Sunday morning.
