The largest labor union in Germany revealed that nearly 100,000 workers and employees at Volkswagen participated in warning strikes across the country.
The Handelsblatt newspaper quoted union spokesman Thorsten Groeger as saying, "The first warning strikes were a very decisive signal from the workers against the harsh plans of the Volkswagen board of directors."
