TAIZ October 16.2023 (Saba)-His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Chairman of the Supreme Political Council, visited Taiz province today, during which he opened , laid the foundation stone for 235 service ,development projects at a cost of six billion and 467 million and 400 thousand riyals.
Where the President, accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs - Minister of Finance in the caretaker government, Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum, the Acting Governor of Taiz, Ahmed Amin Al-Masawa, the Chief of the General Staff, Major General Muhammad Abdul Karim Al-Ghamari, and the Commander of the Fourth Military Region, Major General Abdul Latif Al-Mahdi, inaugurated 106 projects in the fields of... Roads, water, environment, public health, population and education, at a cost of 956 million and 756 thousand riyals.
President Al-Mashat heard, from the Acting Governor Al-Musawa, and those concerned in the local authority, an explanation about the components of the projects that were inaugurated, which included six projects of constructing, surveying and widening roads in the Maqbanah District within the program to support direct intervention projects with unit equipment, four paving projects and 17 solar water projects in Sharab Al-Runa and Al-Salam, the implementation of rainwater harvesting tanks.
Al-Masawa explained that the projects that were opened included seven health projects, the supply, installation and operation of solar energy systems for seven hospitals and 70 educational projects, which included the rehabilitation ,construction of schools , the rehabilitation and restoration of two educational projects, indicating that the number of beneficiaries of these projects is about 251 thousand and 844 people.
In addition,the President laid the foundation stone for 129 projects in Taiz province at a cost of five billion, 286 million and 557 thousand riyals, in the fields of roads, education, water, health, agriculture and other service projects, benefiting 192 thousand and 990 people.
President Al-Mashat was briefed on the type of projects for which the foundation stone was laid, namely the construction, surveying and expansion of five road projects in a district included within the direct intervention and financing programme, as well as the construction, surveying, expansion and paving of 36 first-stage road projects in a number of the province’s districts through community initiatives, as well as a construction and planning project neighborhood units and four projects in the field of roads “construction, expansion, asphalting and surveying”.
In the field of education, the projects for which the foundation stone was laid included 38 projects, including two projects to complete, build and renovate two schools, 32 projects to establish, complete and renovate 36 schools, an expansion project for Taiz University - Al-Hawban branch, and completing the addition of classrooms to three schools.
The projects for which the President laid the foundation stone in Taiz province included 12 water projects, which included digging, building and completing three reservoir projects, eight projects supplying and installing solar-powered pumping units, a watering can project for the village of Mushrifa in Sami District, two health projects, 25 agricultural projects, and six service projects.
The President expressed his happiness at visiting Taiz province ,inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for service and development projects that serve the province and its people, especially in the midst of the Yemeni people’s celebrations of the Yemeni Revolution’s holidays in September, October, and November, and the anniversary of the Prophet’s birthday.

He stressed the interest of the Revolutionary Leadership and the Supreme Political Council in Taiz province and giving it priority in various projects within the state and government plans for the year 1445 AH, and its programs and plans aimed at promoting local development.
He pointed out that the visit to Taiz comes in the context of reviewing and following up on the leadership of the province, the local authority and the executive offices of the level of service and development performance, pushing the wheel of development forward and touching on the conditions of citizens and their living conditions, especially in light of the continued aggression and siege.
He explained that Taiz will receive development projects during the coming period that contribute to alleviating the suffering of citizens, stressing the need to activate the role of community initiatives to support the efforts of the state and government in implementing projects that serve the public interest.
