IBB October 17.2023 (Saba) - Mahdi Al-Mashat, Chairman of the Supreme Political Council, laid on Tuesday the foundation stone for 579 service and development projects in Ibb Governorate at a cost of 19 billion, 253 million and 977 thousand riyals, on the occasion of the celebration of the Yemeni Revolutionary Days of September, October and November.

His Excellency the President, accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs - Minister of Finance in the caretaker government, Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum, listened to an explanation from the Governor of Ibb, Abdul Wahed Salah, about the 97 projects for which the foundation stone was laid with local funding, at a cost of five billion and 470 million and 650 thousand riyals.

Governor Salah stated that the projects for which the foundation stone was laid with local funding were distributed among 18 projects in the road sector at a cost of one billion and 613 million and 157 thousand riyals, five projects in the supplies sector at a cost of 396 million and 513 thousand riyals, and 19 projects in the agriculture sector at a cost of one billion and 439 million and 750 thousand riyals. .

He pointed out that the locally funded projects were also distributed among 22 projects in the community initiatives sector at a cost of 611 million and 80 thousand riyals, 11 projects in the education and health sectors at a cost of 258 million and 750 thousand riyals, and 22 projects in various sectors at a cost of one billion and 151 million and 400 thousand riyals.

The Governor of Ibb briefed His Excellency the President on community initiatives projects with self-contribution and support in all fields amounting to 370 projects at a cost of eight billion and 824 million riyals, pointing out that the projects for which the cornerstones were laid with central support and donors amounted to 109 projects at a cost of four billion 959 million and 327 thousand Riyals.

He stated that the projects supported centrally and by donors included 46 projects in the public works sector, “roads, ferries, and education” at a cost of 624 million and 900 thousand riyals, and seven projects for the Social Fund for Development at a cost of 981 million and 961 thousand riyals, and 19 projects for Social Fund for Development projects under implementation at a cost of one billion and 907 thousand riyals. One million and 66 thousand riyals, and 24 projects in the rural water sector at a cost of 910 million and 250 thousand riyals.

His Excellency the President stressed that laying the foundation stone and inaugurating work on these strategic projects is one of the fruits of the September 21 Revolution and a victory for the Development Front and the successes it has achieved on various service tracks.

He drew attention to the Supreme Political Council's interest in Ibb Governorate and giving it priority in various projects, which contributes to alleviating the suffering of citizens in light of the current conditions that the country is going through as a result of the repercussions of the aggression and siege.

He stressed the need to activate the role of community initiatives in local development projects and their contribution to supporting the efforts of the state and government in various vital sectors.

The laying of the foundation stone was attended by the Commander of the Fourth Military Region, Major General Abdul Latif Al Mahdi, the Governorate's General Mobilization Officer, Yahya Al-Yousifi, and a number of members of the Shura Council, governorate deputies and officials.
