SANA'A October 18.2023 (Saba) - His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Muhammad al-Mashat, Chairman of the Supreme Political Council, visited Dhamar province on Wednesday, during which he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 454 service and development projects at a cost of 18 billion, 952 million and 229 thousand riyals, on the occasion of the celebration of the Yemeni Revolutionary Days of September, October and November.

Where His Excellency the President, accompanied by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Brother Yahya Ali Al-Rai, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs - the Minister of Finance in the caretaker government, Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum, the Governor of Dhamar, Muhammad Nasser Al-Bukhaiti, and the Commander of the Military Region, Major General Abdul Latif Al-Mahdi, inaugurated 109 projects in the fields of public works, roads, agriculture, and education. Water, sanitation and health, at a cost of six billion and 429 million and 729 thousand riyals.

President Al-Mashat heard, from Governor Al-Bukhaiti, an explanation of the components of the projects that were inaugurated, which included 31 projects in the public works sector at a cost of one billion and 879 million and 635 thousand riyals, 11 projects in the agricultural sector at a cost of 703 million and 247 thousand riyals, and 13 projects in the education sector at a cost of 434 million and 213 thousand riyals.

The projects that were opened also included 13 projects in the water and sanitation sector at a cost of one billion and 871 million and 983 thousand riyals, 37 projects in the rural water sector at a cost of one billion and 305 million and 258 thousand riyals, and four projects in the public health sector, at a cost of 235 million and 332 thousand riyals with the support of the local authority, the Social Fund for Development, the Public Works Project, the Central Emergency Interventions Unit at the Ministry of Finance, and community organizations and initiatives.

In addition, His Excellency the President laid the foundation stone for 343 service and development projects in Dhamar Governorate at a cost of 12 billion and 522 million and 500 thousand riyals, in areas that included public works, roads, agriculture, education, water, sanitation, and culture.

President Al-Mashat heard from the Governor of Dhamar, Muhammad Nasser Al-Bukhaiti, an explanation about the type of projects for which the foundation stone was laid, which are 235 projects in the public works and roads sector, 15 projects in the agricultural sector, 74 projects in the water and sanitation sector, 18 projects in the education sector, and a project in the cultural sector.

During the visit, His Excellency the President expressed his happiness at visiting Dhamar Governorate and opening, inaugurating, and laying the foundation stone for development and service projects that effectively contribute to enhancing development efforts, meeting the aspirations of society, and alleviating the effects of the humanitarian crisis imposed by the aggression and siege.

President Al-Mashat appreciated the sacrifices made by the people of Dhamar in the battle of steadfastness in the face of the American-Saudi-Emirati aggression over the past years, stressing the necessity of activating the role of community initiatives to support the efforts of the state and the government in implementing projects that serve the governorate and the residents of rural areas.
