Beirut - Saba:
The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it has submitted a complaint to the Security Council, requesting immediate intervention to stop the Zionist aggressions targeting journalists and media facilities in Lebanon.
The ministry stated in a press release today, Monday, that the repeated Zionist targeting of the media system falls under described war crimes that necessitate holding "Israel" accountable and punishing it, as it undermines the foundations of free journalism, most importantly enhancing the safety of journalists and the free flow of information.
The statement described the Zionist attacks against journalists as "an attempt to intimidate and terrorize all journalists working to cover the Zionist aggression against Lebanon, especially after the success of the free press in conveying the truth of the crimes, massacres, and blatant violations of international law, international humanitarian law, and human rights committed by the enemy entity."
The Lebanese Foreign Ministry, in its complaint, called on the member states of the Security Council to take effective steps to achieve an immediate ceasefire and to stop the ongoing Zionist attacks on Lebanon and its people, including civilians, journalists, and paramedics.
