The World Health Organization warned that Israel's ban on the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) inside the occupied Palestinian territories would have devastating consequences, and "this is unacceptable."
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a post on the X platform on Tuesday "UNRWA is an organization that the Palestinian people cannot do without, and it has continued its work for 70 years."
It added that the decision contradicts Israel's obligations and responsibilities, and threatens the lives and health of everyone who trusts UNRWA.
The Israeli Knesset officially and finally approved, on Monday evening, in the second and third readings, the law that bans UNRWA activity inside the occupied Palestinian territories.
