Islamabad - Saba:
Pakistani media reported on Saturday that 21 people were killed and dozens injured in an explosion at a railway station in Quetta, south-west of the country.
Pakistan's Geo TV network said: ‘21 people, including a woman, were killed and more than 30 others were injured in an explosion on the platform of the railway station in Quetta.’
‘The explosion took place at the railway station's booking office just before the train arrived on the platform,’ the network added. Given the usual crowds at the station, there is a high risk of major casualties.’
Pakistan's western regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan are witnessing a deteriorating security situation due to the proliferation of a number of militant groups, according to a cable from Pakistan's Interior Ministry.
