Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi met on Tuesday with Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Judge Abdulsamad al-Mutawakel and Minister of Justice and Human Rights Judge Mujahid Abdullah.
The meeting discussed the conditions of the Supreme Court and its requirements in the field of infrastructure, as well as the status of prisons and their urgent basic needs.
It touched on the efforts made by Judge al-Mutawakel to raise the level of judicial and administrative work in the Supreme Court, accelerate the process of adjudicating cases before it and ensure the confidentiality of its data.
The Prime Minister praised all the efforts made by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to improve and develop work mechanisms in this great judicial edifice.
He stressed that the government will not hesitate to carry out its duties in supporting the efforts of the court and strengthening the elements of its stability, especially with regard to its infrastructure.
He directed the Minister of Justice, in coordination with the relevant authorities, to work on providing the urgent requirements of prisons and their inmates.
