Gaza - Saba:
The authorities in Deir al-Balah, middle Gaza Strip, on Tuesday warned that their basic services would stop completely, as no delivery of fuel needed to operate water wells and sewage pumps arrived in the area over the last 20 days.
In a statement, the authorities said they tried to work at the minimum over this period, and hardly delivered humanitarian services to local communities, but they are now facing "total paralysis of these services because the occupier obdurately denied access to fuel."
The stopped pumping of sewage and disposal of piled garbage portend the occurrence of health disasters and spread of epidemics, particularly with the Winter setting in, the authorities said.
Israel is fully responsible for any humanitarian catastrophe that could occur at any moment, they added, calling for international agencies to take immediate steps and provide the necessary fuel.
