Occupied Quds - Saba:
Palestinian and international doctors on Tuesday called for the urgent evacuation of 25,000 wounded and sick people from Gaza Strip to hospitals in Al-Quds through the humanitarian corridor between the two areas.
The doctors said during a press conference held at the Augusta Victoria Hospital in occupied Al-Quds: The doctors said that their demand comes in light of the escalation of the Zionist genocide in Gaza Strip and the fact that most hospitals are out of service.
Doctors added: It is estimated that 25,000 people in Gaza need life-saving medical care due to their serious condition.
Guy Shalev, executive director of Physicians for Human Rights, called for international support. He said: "The suffering in Gaza cannot be ignored.
Reopening the humanitarian corridor is the only sustainable solution to the ongoing medical emergency that is costing lives every day."
Speakers at the conference recommended three key actions: establishing safe corridors for medical evacuation and securing routes for patients to receive urgent care in hospitals in East Al-Quds, the West Bank or abroad; ending family separation by calling for no child to travel alone during a medical trip; and finally ensuring the safe return of patients after treatment to Gaza Strip without having to choose between their health and their house.
