SANA'A July 15. 2023 (Saba)-His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Head of the Supreme Political Council, met today with the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Finance, Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum, the Ministers of Industry, Muhammad Al-Mutahhar, and the Ministers of Health, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel, and the authorities concerned with customs ports.
During the meeting, they discussed the efforts exerted at the customs outlets to facilitate and simplify the customs procedures.
President Al-Mashat stressed the need to establish a comprehensive mechanism for customs, so that all representatives of the authorities are under the management and supervision of the port manager, and the delegates remain technically linked to their destinations, provided that the customs director bears full responsibility for all procedures and follow-up.
He stressed the importance of unifying the electronic automated system with identifying users according to the competence of each party, as well as setting up a correct mechanism for locomotives and containers loaded with goods that are affected by sunlight.
The President directed to provide customs facilities, especially for investment shipments that contain machinery and parts for the establishment of local investment factories, and to provide exemptions for them in a way that contributes to the advancement of the national economy.
President Al-Mashat instructed the Minister of Finance, Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum, in coordination with the concerned authorities, to quickly prepare a chronic mechanism for completing transactions at the outlets.
