Sana'a-Saba: The Ministry of Health and Environment and the General Authority for the Care of Martyrs' Families, in partnership with Sana'a University and the Supreme Authority for Medicines, will launch next week a series of medical camps in the capital and governorates on the occasion of the annual anniversary of the martyr for the year 1446 AH.

24 medical camps will be held, including the central camp at Sana'a University and 11 specialized camps in the capital, while the rest will be held in the governorates during the period from November 18 to 23.

The medical camps, which target all age groups of martyrs' families, include 18 medical specialties with the participation of consultants and specialists in general internal medicine, heart and artery diseases and surgery, gastrointestinal and liver endoscopy, general surgery, plastic surgery, tumors, urology, ear, nose and throat medicine and surgery, ophthalmology, and dermatology.

The specialties also include gynecology, obstetrics, neurology, spine, bones and joints, psychiatry, pediatrics, maxillofacial surgery and dentistry.

The central camp will be held at the University Mother and Child Hospital behind the Faculty of Agriculture, Sana'a University, and the camp's branches will be in ten hospitals inside the capital, which will receive cases according to referrals from the central camp.

The Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Ali Shaiban, explained to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that this camp is the first of its kind and coincides with the annual anniversary of the martyr to alleviate the suffering of patients from the families of martyrs, which embodies the values and principles of the Islamic religion in compassion, cooperation and strengthening social solidarity.

He stressed that the camp comes in implementation of the directives of the Leader of the Revolution on the necessity of caring for the charitable, relief and humanitarian aspect, and caring for the families of martyrs in recognition of the sacrifices made by their relatives for the sake of pride, dignity and defending the homeland and sovereignty.

Dr. Shaiban urged businessmen and philanthropists to participate in supporting such relief medical camps that provide free services to patients, as part of their social responsibility towards citizens, especially in light of the difficult circumstances the country is going through as a result of the repercussions of the aggression and siege.

For his part, Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Nasher Al-Qaoud praised the efforts of all private and public hospitals in providing medical and health services to the families of martyrs during the past period, pointing out the importance of concerted efforts by all to alleviate the suffering of the families of martyrs, in appreciation of the sacrifices of their relatives in defending the homeland and its independence.

He stated that during the camp, examination and surgery services will be provided and cases requiring operations will be referred to hospitals according to what is planned.. considering the camp the first of its kind at the level of the Secretariat and the governorates.

He noted the role of the General Administration of Camps at the Ministry and the General Authority for the Care of the Families of Martyrs, Sana'a University and all governmental and private bodies and hospitals, associations and institutions and their efforts in preparing and implementing these camps to alleviate the suffering of the families of martyrs.

In turn, the head of the General Authority for the Care of the Families of Martyrs and Missing Persons, Taha Jarran, pointed out the importance of commemorating the annual anniversary of the martyr in light of the challenges facing the nation and the Yemeni people.. indicating that commemorating the anniversary includes holding many events, activities and projects, including charity projects targeting the families of martyrs.

He explained that the Authority, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Sana'a University, will hold medical camps next week in the capital and a number of governorates targeting the families of martyrs of all categories.. expressing his hope that it will cover a wide segment of families by providing medical and treatment services in various specialties.

He stressed that commemorating this occasion comes to remind everyone of the duty towards the families of martyrs and caring for them, considering that this is a responsibility that falls on everyone.. indicating that the martyrs were credited with achieving pride, security and independence.

For his part, the Director General of Medical Camps at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Abdullah Al-Imad, explained that the central camp that will be set up at Sana'a University will provide medical treatment and diagnostic services in all medical specialties and surgical consultations with highly qualified medical staff. Cases from the families of martyrs who need surgeries and greater care will be referred to the surgical camps in the capital, which number 11 specialized medical camps.

He stressed that the central camp will include examination, diagnosis and dispensing of medications in all specialties and consulting clinics, in addition to performing surgeries for cases that require surgical interventions in specialized surgical camps.

While the head of the Health Care Association for Affected Communities, Dr. Nashwan Al-Attab, stated that the camps aim to alleviate the suffering of patients due to the difficult circumstances resulting from the continued aggression and siege that have doubled the economic and health burdens on citizens.

He pointed out the importance of investing in the annual anniversary of the martyr in promoting the values of compassion and solidarity brought by the Great Messenger, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace.. He pointed out the importance of recalling the greatness of this anniversary to be positively reflected in serving citizens by adhering to the values of mercy, benevolence, giving, honesty, trustworthiness and sincerity in work.

Dr. Al-Attab praised the initiative of the Ministry of Health and the General Authority for the Care of the Families of Martyrs in cooperation with Sana'a University in establishing these qualitative camps that will contribute to relieving pressure on hospitals and organizations.

According to a report issued by the Martyrs' Families Care Authority, the total health and medical services provided by the Authority's health care during the year 1445 AH amounted to 375,342 services in hospitals and health centers, with a value of two billion, 443 million, and 990 thousand riyals, benefiting 70,004 cases.

He pointed out that 79,804 prescriptions were dispensed, with a value of 635 million, 679 thousand riyals.. Noting that three thousand, 449 major surgeries were performed, with a value of 649 million, 541 thousand riyals.

The report explained that the total cumulative hospitalization amounted to 13,804 cases, with a value of 148 million, 150 thousand riyals, while the total examinations amounted to 38,326 examinations, with a value of 26 million, 661 thousand riyals.

He pointed out that the total number of examinations was 108,899 examinations, worth 283 million and 765 thousand riyals, while the total number of x-rays was 40,707, worth 220 million and 507 thousand riyals, and other services were 14,731, worth 68 million and 765 thousand riyals.
