Ukrainian media reported today, Sunday, that several explosions occurred in the capital, Kiev, during the dawn hours.
The Ukrainian TSN channel reported in a post on the Telegram platform, citing monitoring channels, that "several explosions were heard in the capital, Kyiv, and sirens were sounded and an air alert was declared in the city at 04:45 Moscow time."
According to Ukrainian media, explosions were also heard in the Sumy region, including in the district center and the city of Romny.
The US State Department had previously announced that it had made a decision to close the US embassy in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, based on information that spoke of the possibility of a "major Russian attack" on November 20.
The US decision came the day after Kyiv announced that it would strike Russian targets using American "ATACMS" missiles, after the Biden administration gave a green light in this regard.
It is worth noting that Russia had warned that allowing the use of American missiles to strike deep into Russian territory would mean NATO's direct involvement in the conflict with Russia.
