Today, the Prime Minister's Office organized an emergency management planning workshop in Sana'a.
The workshop aimed to enable participants to identify the main risks within the country's emergency plan, arrange their priorities, and understand the methodology and mechanism that contribute to the continuity of their entities in implementing activities on an ongoing basis, reduce the negative consequences of risks, improve the decision-making process, optimize the use of resources and increase the effectiveness of operational operations.
The workshop opened with a speech delivered by its coordinator, Ali Al-Mutamayez, who stressed the importance of the workshop in preparing comprehensive emergency plans, identifying potential risks and threats, prioritizing and assessing emergency responses, in addition to estimating the size of the expected damage. Al-Mutamayez stressed the need for coordination between the concerned authorities to unify efforts, define the competencies and responsibilities of each entity, and evaluate previous plans to improve performance.
He also stressed the importance of sensing collective responsibility to overcome challenges and develop realistic plans that meet the requirements of the current stage, with a focus on preparing urgent and emergency plans and projects. He also pointed to the need for the office to have alternative pathways in the work of ministries that reflect the government's readiness to face threats.
He pointed out that the state must be in a state of constant readiness to ensure the continued provision of services to citizens in all fields.
For his part, trainer Mutahar Al-Shaari reviewed the types of plans and scenarios to confront emergencies in their various stages, while explaining how to manage enterprise risks and their role in supporting the National Risk Management Operations Room. Al-Shaari analyzed the likelihood of hazards, assessed their impact and severity, and ways to overcome them through containment, mitigation, avoidance, or transformation.
