London - Saba:
Egyptian international star Mohamed Salah led his team Liverpool to strengthen its position at the top of the English Premier League table with a 3-2 victory over host Southampton last night, in the twelfth round of the English Premier League.

Salah scored two goals that led Liverpool to turn around its 1-2 deficit against host Southampton, as Liverpool took the lead through Dominic Szoboszlai in the 30th minute, before Adam Armstrong equalized for Southampton in the 42nd minute, after following up on the penalty kick that he executed and was saved by Irishman Caimhin Kelleher, Liverpool's goalkeeper.

Portuguese Matheus Fernandes scored the second goal for Southampton in the 56th minute, but Mohamed Salah equalized for Liverpool in the 65th minute, with a magical touch from a one-on-one with the goal, and Salah continued to shine, after adding the third goal for Liverpool and his second personal goal in the 83rd minute from a penalty kick.

With this victory, Liverpool's tally, which achieved its tenth victory in the tournament this season against one draw and one loss, rose to 31 points at the top of the tournament, eight points ahead of its closest pursuer, Manchester City.

Southampton's tally, which suffered its tenth loss in the tournament during the current season against one win and one draw, stopped at four points, remaining at the bottom of the standings.

Manchester United stumbled again in the English Premier League, drawing with its host, Ipswich Town, with one goal each yesterday in the 12th round of the tournament.

United took an early lead through Marcus Rashford in the second minute, and Omari Hutchinson responded with an equalizer for Ipswich in the (43) minute.

United were unable to taste victory in their first match under Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim, and settled in twelfth place with 16 points, while Ipswich Town remained in 18th place with nine points.
