Social Affairs Minister announces adoption of al-Ehsan Hospital for Disabled
[Tue, 03 Dec 2024 19:33:59 +0300]

Sana'a - Saba;

Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Samir Baja'alah announced on Tuesday that the ministry has officially adopted the project to establish al-Ehsan Hospital for the Disabled.

This initiative is part of the state’s ongoing commitment to supporting and enhancing the welfare of people with special needs.

Speaking at a ceremony organized by al-Noor Center for the Blind to honor its members on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Minister Baja'alah expressed his hope that the hospital would be inaugurated soon.

The hospital will provide comprehensive medical and health services to people with disabilities, aligning with the directives of the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik bin Badr al-Din al-Houthi, to prioritize vulnerable groups in society.

Minister Baja'alah congratulated people with disabilities on this occasion, recognizing the remarkable achievements many have made in the scientific and professional fields, including graduates from al-Noor Center for the Blind.

He reaffirmed that the care and empowerment of individuals with special needs is a top priority for both the government and the ministry.

He also emphasized the ministry’s collaboration with both governmental and private sectors in implementing programs aimed at caring for people with disabilities, ensuring they are granted job opportunities and economic empowerment.

This includes successful higher education and rehabilitation programs that have benefited many individuals in this group.

During the ceremony, the head of the National Union of Disabled Associations, Abdullah Binian, and the director of al-Noor Center for the Blind, Hassan Ismail, highlighted the essential role of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, as well as the Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Fund, in supporting associations dedicated to the welfare of the disabled. They noted the positive impact these efforts have had on the ground.

Both leaders also expressed solidarity with the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples, condemning the crimes committed by the Zionist entity against Palestinians. They specifically referenced the attack on al-Noor Center for the Blind on January 5, 2016, by the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression coalition, which caused significant damage to the center.
