Brussels - Saba:
European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell admitted that the EU failed to prevent Zionist practices during 2024 and to prevent an increase in the number of civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip.
Borrell told reporters on Monday that the conflicts in the Middle East and the war between Russia and Ukraine were among the most prominent events in 2024.
"We could not prevent the number of civilian casualties from rising, the humanitarian situation in Gaza became a disaster, tensions in the West Bank escalated and the Palestinian Authority reached the brink of collapse," he added.
He continued: "This inaction has created the impression in public opinion that the European Union is following a policy of double standards."
Since October 7, 2023, the Zionist enemy, with US support, has committed a genocide in Gaza that has left more than 149,000 Palestinians dead , wounded, most of them children , women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and the elderly, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
