Madrid - Saba:
Brazilian international striker Vinicius Junior suffered a hamstring injury, which means he will be absent for a period from the matches of his team Real Madrid, the Spanish League champion and the UEFA Champions League, according to what the Royal Club announced.
"After the examinations conducted today, our player Vinicius Junior was diagnosed by the medical services at Real Madrid with an injury to the hamstring muscle of his left thigh," the Royal Club said in a statement today, Tuesday.
Vinicius was injured in the 3-0 victory over Leganes in the 14th round of the Spanish League.
Local media expect the Brazilian winger to be out of action for about a month, meaning he will miss Wednesday's visit to Liverpool in the Champions League, and possibly the match against Atalanta on the 10th of next month in the sixth round of the continental competition.
Vinicius has scored eight goals in 13 matches in the Spanish League this season and 12 goals in 18 matches in all competitions.
Real Madrid is in second place in the league, four points behind its rival Barcelona, with a postponed match in its pocket, while it is in 18th place out of 36 teams in the unified group for the Champions League after collecting six points from four matches (two wins and two defeats).
