The Shura Council held its fourth meeting of the first session on Monday, headed by the Council Chairman Mohammed Hussein al-Aidaroos, and attended by the Council's Vice-Chairmen Mohammed al-Durra and Daifullah Rassam.
The Council strongly condemned the Zionist entity's continued pursuit of a policy of genocide, ethnic cleansing, and the destruction of residential areas in the Gaza Strip, as well as systematic bombing and assassinations in the West Bank and Lebanon.
The Shura Council denounced the continued shameful silence of the international community and Arab and Islamic regimes regarding the violations committed by the enemy entity in Palestine and Lebanon, which amount to war crimes against humanity.
The Council welcomed the decision of the International Criminal Court to issue an arrest warrant for the Zionist criminals Netanyahu and Galant on charges related to committing war crimes against humanity in Palestine, considering this decision a step in the right direction to achieve justice and end decades of immunity for the Zionist occupation.
The international community and the countries of the world must deal with it positively, and prosecute the war criminals Netanyahu and Galant.
The meeting, which began with the recitation of al-Fatihah for the soul of the deceased member of the nation, Abdullah al-Sharif, and the martyrs of Yemen, Palestine and Lebanon, discussed the report of the Human Rights, Public Freedoms and Civil Society Committee of the Council on persons with disabilities.
The report was approved while absorbing the comments made on it.
In the meeting, which was attended by Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Samir Baja'alah, Deputy Minister of Justice and Human Rights Judge Ibrahim al-Shami and Secretary-General of the Council Ali Abdulmughni, Speaker of the Shura Council stressed the importance of working to develop comprehensive strategic plans related to persons with disabilities that focus on important priorities in line with the directives of the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and enable the Government of Change and Construction to proceed in light of them to develop appropriate solutions.
He stressed the need to work on enhancing the necessary health care for people with disabilities and those directly affected by the aggression, providing them with equal educational opportunities, and creating innovative employment programs that help integrate them into the labor market.
Al-Aidaroos pointed out the importance of concerted efforts by relevant parties to enhance support for the rights of people with disabilities and address the challenges and difficulties they face, which have been exacerbated by the current circumstances resulting from the aggression and siege.
He praised the efforts of the Human Rights and Public Freedoms Committee in preparing the report and its recommendations, urging the permanent committees of the Council to enhance institutional activity and prepare various and comprehensive studies to cover priority issues and address the needs of society.
Al-Aidaroos also stressed the continuation of community work and coordination with local authorities during field visits to local communities, listening to their needs and conveying them to the relevant authorities accompanied by appropriate recommendations, and providing the Community Committee of the Council with periodic reports on field activities.
The meeting, which included the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor Yasser Sharaf al-Din and a number of specialists in the relevant authorities, listened to a presentation by the head of the committee, Hasiba Shanif, the vice-chair of the committee, Dirham al-Zakri, and a number of members on the contents of the report, which shed light on the current reality of people with disabilities and the challenges they face, as well as the conclusions and recommendations it reached.
The report aimed to evaluate the level of performance and achievement of the services and activities provided by the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled, the National Union of Associations for the Disabled, and the Department of Social Welfare, and to determine the role of the relevant authorities in advancing services and providing the needs of people with disabilities.
The report recommended reviewing the sources of support for the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled, and supporting the fund to complete the projects of organizational and institutional building and the automated system of the fund and its branches.
The recommendations stressed the importance of coordination with the government and all its sectors to implement the national strategy for persons with disabilities, and to develop and update legislation that serves this important group in society, pointing to coordination and networking with relevant and donor agencies to integrate persons with disabilities into programs, grants and aid, as well as to integrate them into economic empowerment programs and projects of the Zakat and Endowments Authority.
The meeting was enriched by a number of observations by the members of the Council and the government side, which stressed in general the importance of holding a comprehensive national conference to discuss the needs and requirements of persons with disabilities and the wounded of aggression to enhance their role, protect their rights and enable them to integrate into society.
They stressed the need to find legal legislation that contributes to granting them appropriate rights and needs, and to make efforts in the preventive and awareness aspect in order to reduce disability, as well as to find a higher body concerned with persons with disabilities and the wounded of aggression and to provide appropriate studies and solutions to the government.
The attendees held the Saudi-Emirati aggression coalition fully responsible for the direct targeting of civilian objects and residential neighborhoods, which resulted in an increase in cases of disability among society and the exacerbation of their suffering as a result of the aggression and siege.
